Spring has come here to Middle Tennessee, I have the tractor battery on charge and i have to change the oil in it, and get ready soon to start cutting the grass around here.... I have been collecting cinder blocks for the new raised beds, and have plenty of seedlings started.

We rescued a Australian Shepard from being destroyed, Her name is Aussie and she has been a pretty good guard dog. have to have one around these neck of the woods.

Winter 2007

Today is like the second day of full Winter 2007...... dosen't seem like Christmas is right around the corner but it is.... This year kinda just flew on by way too quickly........

For those of you that don't know me from the forums, My name is Phil, I'm 50 and living in Middle Tennessee........ I live on a small farmette, grow my own veggies, some fruit and raise some exotic chickens....... My wife of now four years is Chris, she 's a great baker and yes i am a little overwieght from all the cookies and such.....

We moved here to our current address two years ago..... and am slowly building a small organic farm..... We grow peppers for market, and sell pepper prouducts.... jellys and jams and an occasional seed. were small but were local....

The county we live in hosts three Amish settlements, and is quite rural... Whole county population is under 11,000..... Mostly farming and recreation, we are betwwen two rivers, The Tennessee and the winding Buffalo.....

In this blog, I hope to account for my weekly escapades in growing, and cultivating our organic products. Stay tuned for a little humor, a little fare, and sometimes a tear.
